Getting Started

What is SkyTON OEE?
SkyTON OEE is a real-time manufacturing performance platform that tracks OEE, downtime, and production losses directly from your machines and operators. It provides live visibility on availability, performance, and quality while enabling structured Lean improvement across shifts and lines.
Who is SkyTON built for?
SkyTON is designed for manufacturers with 3–20 production lines, especially in food, packaging, cement, and discrete manufacturing. It is ideal for factories that want to reduce downtime, improve throughput, and move from reactive firefighting to data-driven operational excellence.
How fast can we see results?
Most factories start identifying real bottlenecks within the first few days after installation. Measurable improvements in downtime, OEE, and shift performance typically occur within 4–12 weeks, depending on the starting baseline and operational maturity.
Do we need a high digital maturity to use SkyTON?
No. SkyTON is specifically built for factories that currently rely on manual reporting, Excel tracking, or limited MES visibility. The system establishes a reliable baseline first, then progressively enables more advanced analytics and Lean routines.

Data, Devices & Integration

How does SkyTON connect to our machines?
SkyTON uses dedicated IoT data collectors installed on production lines to capture real-time signals such as counts, runtime, and stops. It can also integrate with PLCs, sensors, and existing systems where available, ensuring accurate and continuous data flow.
Can SkyTON track short stops and micro-downtime?
Yes. SkyTON is designed to detect both long stops and short micro-stops automatically. This is critical because hidden short stops are often one of the biggest losses in high-speed manufacturing environments.
Does the system support shift-level tracking?
Yes. SkyTON splits performance, downtime, and OEE by shift, line, and time window. This enables clear shift accountability, fair performance comparisons, and more effective daily review meetings.
Can operators add stop reasons?
Yes. Operators can log downtime reasons directly through the interface, while the system simultaneously captures automatic machine data. This combination provides both accuracy and operational context.

Analytics, OEE & Continuous Improvement

How does SkyTON calculate OEE?
SkyTON calculates OEE using industry-standard methodology by measuring Availability, Performance, and Quality in real time. All losses including breakdowns, short stops, speed losses, and rejects are automatically categorized and visualized.
What kind of insights do we get?
The platform provides live dashboards, downtime Pareto analysis, shift comparisons, loss breakdowns, MTBF/MTTR tracking, and trend analytics. This allows teams to quickly identify the true root causes of production losses.
Does SkyTON support Lean and daily performance routines?
Yes. SkyTON is built to support Lean execution, including daily meetings, weekly Pareto reviews, and structured corrective actions. The system helps teams focus on the top recurring losses instead of reacting to symptoms.
Will this replace our MES or ERP?
No. SkyTON complements existing MES, ERP, and planning systems by providing accurate real-time shop floor data and operational intelligence. It focuses specifically on production performance and continuous improvement.

Implementation & Rollout

How long does implementation take?
Initial installation on a pilot line can typically be completed within a few days. Full baseline stabilization and dashboard calibration usually take 2–4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the production environment.
Do you support pilot projects?
Yes. Most customers start with one to three lines as a pilot to validate data accuracy and business impact before scaling across the factory or multiple sites.
What does onboarding include?
Onboarding includes device installation, KPI baseline setup, downtime taxonomy alignment, dashboard configuration, and training for production, maintenance, and management teams.
Can SkyTON scale to multiple lines and factories?
Yes. The platform is designed to scale from a single line pilot to multi-line plants and multi-site operations, with centralized dashboards and standardized reporting across all facilities.

Security, Deployment & Ownership

Where is our data stored?
Data is securely stored in the SkyTON cloud infrastructure with controlled access and audit-friendly architecture. Deployment options can be aligned with your IT and compliance requirements.
Who owns the production data?
You fully own your operational and production data. SkyTON acts as the analytics and intelligence layer, while ensuring secure and structured data management.
Is the system secure for industrial environments?
Yes. SkyTON uses role-based access control, secure APIs, and industrial-grade data handling practices to ensure reliability, integrity, and controlled access to sensitive production data.

Commercials & ROI

How is pricing structured?
SkyTON uses a simple subscription model based on the number of production lines, with a standard monthly fee per line. This makes it predictable, scalable, and cost-effective compared to traditional MES systems.
What kind of ROI can we expect?
Typical ROI comes from reduced downtime, improved throughput, and better shift efficiency. Many factories recover lost productive hours and achieve measurable OEE improvements within the first few months.
Is SkyTON suitable for mid-sized factories?
Yes. SkyTON is specifically positioned for small to mid-sized factories that find traditional MES systems too complex, expensive, or slow to implement, but still need world-class performance visibility.
